Effective January 22, 2018, Tenth Circuit Rule 34.1(E)(1) was amended by General Order to reflect that audio recordings of oral arguments shall be posted to the court’s website within 48 hours of the argument unless the court orders otherwise. Posted arguments can be accessed by selecting the Oral Argument Recordings option under the Opinions tab or by clicking here.

The General Services Administration (GSA) has announced an increase in the reimbursement mileage rates for privately owned automobiles, motorcycles, and airplanes when used for official travel. The new reimbursement mileage rates went into effect on January 1, 2018, for travel performed on or after that date. These rates apply to all judges, employees, and jurors and are as follows:
Automobiles $0.545 per mile
Motorcycles $0.515 per mile
Airplanes $1.21 per mile

On November 13, 2017, the United States Supreme Court’s electronic filing system will begin operation. While paper will remain the official form of filing as under existing practice, parties represented by counsel will also be required to submit most documents through the new electronic filing system. The 2018 proposed 10th Circuit Local Rules have been posted for public comment. From September 5, 2017 through October 31, 2017 the court will accept comments from all interested parties regarding the proposed changes. Comments should be directed to A memo explaining the proposed local rules changes is included below. Also included are blackline and redline versions of the rules. There are no major Fed. R. App. P. changes for 2018.
