The Judicial Council of the Tenth Circuit has issued an order that publicly reprimands U.S. District Judge Carlos Murguia of the District of Kansas for several forms of misconduct, including sexual harassment and other inappropriate behavior during and outside of official court duties. In doing so, the Judicial Council followed the Judiciary’s process for addressing judicial misconduct complaints that is mandated by statute and informed by the Code of Conduct for U.S. Judges.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit seeks applications for a bankruptcy judgeship in the District of Kansas.  Bankruptcy judges are appointed to 14-year terms pursuant to 28 U.S.C. §152.  The position is located in Wichita, Kansas and will be available July 1, 2020, pending successful completion of a background investigation. The current annual salary is $194,028.

The Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals is seeking hotel rooms at a government rate over various dates in 2021 to house federal judges and their law clerks during terms of court in Denver, Colorado.  We are considering splitting the block between law clerks and judges or housing all of them together, which is why this RFP shows three different options for bidding.  Please advise of availability and rates for all three options if possible.

DENVER – Chief Judge Timothy M. Tymkovich of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit announced today the appointment of the Honorable Joel M. Carson to the Court. President Donald J. Trump nominated Judge Carson in December 2017. Judge Carson’s nomination was confirmed by the Senate on May 15, 2018. Judge Bobby R. Baldock of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals administered the oath of office today in Roswell, New Mexico. Judge Carson served as a law clerk to Judge Baldock from 1997 to 1999.
