Appointment of U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Colorado

Denver, CO -- The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit has appointed Honorable Kimberley H. Tyson to the bankruptcy bench for the District of Colorado, effective Friday, May 12, 2017.

Judge Tyson was previously a director of Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, PC. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas. In her early law career she clerked for Honorable Jerry G. Elliott of the Kansas Court of Appeals and later for Honorable John K. Pearson at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas. She was a member of Sherman & Howard, LLC before joining Ireland Stapleton.

Honorable Philip Brimmer, U.S. District Judge for the District of Colorado, administered the oath to Judge Tyson. Judge Tyson will have chambers in Denver.

The Tenth Circuit, with administrative headquarters in Denver, Colorado, encompasses the states of Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, and Wyoming.
