The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit seeks applications for a bankruptcy judgeship in the District of Wyoming.  Bankruptcy judges are appointed to 14-year terms pursuant to 28 U.S.C. §152.  The position will be available after February 28, 2015.

The current 14-year term of office of Elizabeth E. Brown, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Colorado at Denver, Colorado is due to expire on April 15, 2015. The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit is presently considering whether to reappoint Judge Brown to a new 14-year term of office.

On December 1, 2014, significant changes to the 8000 series of the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, which govern appeals of bankruptcy court decisions, will take effect.  The United States Bankruptcy Appellate Panel of the Tenth Circuit has accordingly proposed amendments to its local rules, to take effect on December 1, 2014.
